Chi Phi

The Chi Phi house, formerly the Massachusetts Governor’s personal mansion, lies along Commonwealth Avenue Park just steps from the final bend of the Boston Marathon. Even while being the spotlight of a multitude of architectural literature and considered one of the East Coast’s canonical mansions, the house is less than 5 minutes walking distance from Fenway Park, Newbury Street, Harvard Bridge (which directly connects brothers to campus), and the Charles River Esplanade.

Since its inception in 1890 the brotherhood has demonstrated its commitment to the Institute through academic excellence, athletic involvement, volunteer efforts and participation in a variety of on-campus organizations. With over 80% of the brotherhood displaying grade point averages of over 4.5, 90% participating in varsity athletics, and 75% involved in cutting-edge research, it’s no coincidence that Chi Phi was just awarded Chapter of the Year in 2020, and also best Community Engagement.
