Toxic masculinity is bad for women (duh) but also men, statistically. Men living inside this framework are more likely to engage in self-destructive behaviors such as drinking, smoking, and doing drugs, as well as being more likely to suffer through depression/consider suicide. In today’s world, sexist men are more likely to downplay SARS-CoV-2, less likely to wear masks, and more likely to fall ill from the virus.
